Must bring the dogs inside!
I haven't blogged over the Christmas period, busy is all.
I want to leave 2009 with two beautiful videos. Both songs are by Joe Hisaishi, taken from the Anime movies of Hayao Miyazaki, 'Howls moving castle' and 'Totoro'.
'Howls moving castle' is one of my favorite films ever and the girls were given 'Totoro' as a Christmas gift and I think it will also be in my favorite movie list.
They are children's films but they are so beautifully drawn and the stories so simple and sweet that I could watch them over and over without ever losing interest. I just adore them.
So in the new year I want you to pop off to the video store and look for some movies by Hayao Miyazaki. Let me know what you think!

Adore Miyazaki films .. the hand drawn animation is superb and the stories are very touching. I think Totoro is my absolute favourite .. what a divine, gentle creature. Would love a Totoro to live with me. And was there a recent new release Miyazaki film about a girl fish who escaped her underwater world to live on the land with a human?? Or is that someone else? Must follow that up.
I know, the hand drawn and painted animations are so beautiful. The new film is called 'Ponyo', I haven't seen it, actually I haven't seen many of his films (I'm starting my appreciation very late!) Maybe that is what I could do this year, watch all of his films!
I love the house and garden in 'Totoro', it's all I would need!
I just love Hayao Miyazaki.... so good to see you do too! I have not seen Ponyo yet - horrified by that, but I did see an ad on TV saying I could buy or rent it now... ha ha ha.
I think Totoro is my absolute favourite .
